RANDOM QUOTE OF THE MONTH!!

*With only one day left, I don't think there is any chance of this being beaten.

"When that thing gets hard, it's going to stay in there. It's not coming out."
-Jose talking about gluing some stuff together. I prefer it out of context though...

In other news I'm going to Dallas tomorrow and racing Bar-H over the weekend. Hopefully my race will be like last years, only without the flat.

I couldn't find my set of sharpies earlier. It turns out they're sitting on my desk right next to me.

More "other news": I'm going to get a pair of these pretty soon (at a much discounted rate yay!)

7:00 in the morning is really early. More so when I'm in studio until 3:30am that day.

Pace Bend

Besides having to stop in the middle of the race because of some crazy crash in the 1/2s (like the whole field... make that three whole fields... had to stop for 15 minutes) the race went really good. I just chilled in the pack, then tried to sprint the finish, but taking the opportunity I got, I still ended up with a pack finish. It was one of those things like:

"OOH! There's the finish and I'm in the lead!"
"Oh look, here comes the pack..."
"Oh look, there goes the pack..."

But whatever, I'm still happy with it.

Coach Andrew said he is almost done with myt sweet training schedule.

Walburg

Meh, not too bad. I got dropped with about 10ish miles to the finish. But up until then I felt really good. You know the drill, I was up in the second echelon, then I was off the back and stuff.

Stupid cross-winds. Actually, I can't really blame those. No excuses this time.

But I've never had a good race at Walburg - two years ago I got a flat about a mile from the finish, last year I didn't even hang for the first lap... I guess I'm getting better.

Pace Bend tomorrow always seems to go good though.

I think the world is about to end.

The forecast for tomorrow says sunny and warm, but Walburg is tomorrow. Those just don't add up.

El Annoying-o

People get mad when people take the elevator from the first floor to floor 2, 3, or 4, yet no one seems to have a problem when people take the elevator from 1 to ground, which is still only one floor. AND GOING DOWN STAIRS IS EASIER THAN GOING UP THEM!!!!

Come on people...

I had a funny picture to put here, but it was a funky size and didn't fit good, so I'll put a link to it instead:

I'm Tired

It really looks like tired is spelled wrong, but I'm pretty sure it isn't.

RANDOM QUOTE OF THE DAY!!:

"When you're with a cyclist there are always three things you will talk about: women, cars, bikes, and sex. Maybe even all of them at the same time."
-Anuti

"Yeah, like this one time I was riding my bike... in my car... and having sex... with this girl. It was awesome!"
-Newguy

Good Story:

I went to Best Buy today to buy an external hard drive to put my 20gb of pictures on so my laptop would quit telling me I had no memory left and it was going to blow up. WHile I was there, I found a Sonic Youth LP, and as cool as LPs are, I couldn't decide if the Sonic Youth are good enough to justify buying the LP.

Things That Are Fun

(After much anticipation)

Architecture trips to Dallas are fun.
Waking up five minutes after the buses are supposed to leave because the batteries in my alarm clock die is also fun.
Neither are as fun as people realizing I'm not there and waiting for me though.

Going to art museums is fun.
Take pictures of handrails and blank walls at said museums is also fun.
Watching the museum people laugh at us doing that is fun too.

Though, art is fun too.

So is sculpture.

Wait a little longer...

That awesome amazing blog I was talking about earlier has been pushed back again to, well, later today...

Bang Camaro is officially totally awesome. Possibly the best concert I've ever been too; and it's not quite Slash's pick, but I got 10 out of the 11 of them that were there to sign my cd booklet. I couldn't track down the last guy before they made us all leave.

Yes I did say there were 11 members of the band there.

No that isn't all of them. There are 5 more.

Seriously. The full band has 3 guitarists, 1 bassist, 1 drummer, and 11 vocalists. Seriously.

RANDOM QUOTE OF THE DAY!!
"Your shirt feels like argile."
-Some guy to his girlfriend.

Because argile is definatly a material, and not just a pattern...

Tomorrow there will be a blog from yesterday. Wait... its after midnight...
SCRATCH THAT! Later today there will be a blog from two days ago!!!

RANDOM QUOTE OF THE DAY!!
"Yo Rafael, we got XM and leather seats, lets kick it to Tyrone's house!"
-Some random Mexican guy in a group of Mexican guys walking around at 1:00am

Attn: Roomate

Please note that it is not neccesary to lock the door while you are inside of the room. That is all.

On a related note, trying to balance a plate on top of your hand that you are holding stuff in while unlocking the door with your other hand is not a good idea. I do not recomend it.

On a related note, I sure hope the wall was clean because I used it to help catch my cheescake after it fell off of my hand, and I still plan on eating it.

Best Buy

Today I went to Best Buy with the intent of buying some cds and playing Guitar Hero on the demo thing to show off. The cds worked out good, the GH playing not so much. Best Buy should invest in some plastic guitars that aren't missing pieces and function properly. Still, I got 4 or 5 new high scores on their game; but no one that came to watch hug around too long...

Last night I got back to campus and while I was waiting around in front of the dorm for a parking space to open up, I took a little time to go drive in a circle around campus instead of just sitting there. For whatever reason a cop started following me around. This got annoying pretty fast, especially after he made a left out of a right only lane to keep behind me. I considered going in circles around the stadium to see how long he would follow me, but decided it would be more fun to pull into a parking space, let him go by, then pull back out and follow him. So I did. That was cool until he made another illegal turn and I had to go the right direction.

Still Sick?

Sure seems like it...

Todays race didn't go quite so good, but after thinking about it, I realized my heart rate being higher than normal the whole race along with not having any legs (yes, they got cut off, it's a sad story) were both pretty good signs that even though I can't feel it normally, I'm still not fully recovered from being sick last week.
Me and Coach Andrew decided that a few days of easy riding only would solve the problem, and seeing as there is no race next weeknend, it shouldn't hurt my "training" either.

And the RANDOM QUOTE OF THE DAY!!:

Tobin got run off the road and was dropped, he came by where I was standing a couple laps later, slowed down, looked up, and said "someone barfed over there."

Tomorrow Morning

I have to get up at like 5:45.
YAY!!

No, not yay getting up early; yay getting to wake the roomate up early. Is it bad that I really enjoy being a jerk to him? Normally I don't do stuff like that, but I guess the whole thing with him not caring about me is turning around on him. Tnight I'm going to play music, and when he tells me to turn it off, I'm going to ignore him and pretend I'm asleep. Then I'm going to make sure he wakes up in the morning when I do, and when I go take a shower, I'm going to leave the lights in the room turned on. Maybe when I leave for the race too. I don't know if I can be that mean or not.

Thursday, February 7, 2008

This morning someone turned on one of the blenders at the smoothie place downstairs while I was walking by, and I thought it was the roomate blowing his nose, because it sounded the same. True story.

ToNB

The crit went good, the road race not so much. Before I get into detail, a few things I learned this weekend:

-Crashes generally happen somewhere besides the front of the pack, making that the best place to be
-Don't eat at the school cafeteria before a race
-Don't use deep dish wheels when the race is going to have crazy crosswinds

The crit went smooth until the last lap when there were three crashes within the last half mile. I avoided them all, but got seperated from the front of the pack and couldn't catch up. I scored a 24th, so that isn't too bad.
The road race: I ate at the school cafeteria before, and go figure, I felt rather sick throughout the race, eventually leading up to me being dropped and skipping the last lap. Using the Zipps wasn't terrible, but I probably would have been better off with the Ksyriums.

I'm going to go buy some cereal and oatmeal at half time so I can have better races next weekend!

El Concert-o

It was pretty much amazing.

I snuck my camera in:

Then I helped start a mosh pit during the encore. Needless to say, I have no pictures of that...

And between the two, Slash threw his pick out into the crowd, and well, I'm not sure what to do with it yet...
