Riding Today
I had planned on doing the UT ride to San Marcos and back, but when I woke up this morning and saw that it was still only 31 degrees outside, I decided I would be much happier if I went back to bed, and rode in the afternoon when it was warmer.
I made the right choice.
I left at about 2:15, and it was close to 50 degrees and sunny, actually quite pleasent. I planned on only riding for about 2-2.5 hours, but I kind of got a little lost out in the middle of nowhere east of austin. Not so bad that I didn't know how to get back or anything, but just enough that I somewhat knew where I was and was pretty easily able to figure out what roads I could take to get back without any backtracking. I got back, and was quite happy to see that I had actually gotten in three hours. Yay!

This is from Yesterday
I just wasn't feeling like posting last night...
Anyway, I got moved into the new studio. It is pretty much awesome:

You can't see it in the picture, but we even have a couch!!
Here is my work area:

Notice how I'm cool and managed to snag an extra desk.
This seems to pretty much sum up architecture school:

Oh! And once again, a RANDOM QUOTE OF THE DAY!!
(I was wearing some race shirt that clearly stated "mountain bike race" on it)
The guy making my BBQ sandwich at dinner: "You race mountain bikes, eh? I'm a motorcycle guy myself, but I have respect for anything with two wheels; motorcycles, bicycles, skateboards, surfboards... Only having two wheels is alot cooler than having four..."

Schedule
I just finished completely revamping my schedule for this semester, and I must say, it works quite a bit better now.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: Design 10:00-1:00, Astronomy 2:00-3:00
Tuesday, Thursday: Visual Communications 8:00-11:00, Architectural History 11:00-12:30, Band 2:00-3:00
Main reason this is better than before: even though Astronomy is M/W/F afternoon which was empty before, band is now T/Th afternoon instead of M/W/F night, which i wasn't so hot about.
Lunchtime, then astronomy, then I'ma gonna go ridin'!

<rant>
So, I was going to go mountain biking this afternoon, I have new chainrings, a new chain, I cleaned my bike, I was ready to go; then [person] calls me and says "hey want to get lunch?" I had just eaten and decided that hanging out with people was more important than going riding by myself for today, since it was just going to be a short easy ride anyway so we decided to go do something after [person] ate. That was two hours ago. Just now, I call [person] to see what was taking so long, and [person] was all like "oh, I have to go get something and go somewhere..." So, I could have still gone riding, and hung out with [person] which brings me to my point:
IF YOU KNOW YOU HAVE OTHER STUFF TO DO, THEN LET PEOPLE KNOW SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO WASTE THEIR TIME WAITING AROUND ON YOU!!!

Chainrings
I'm pretty sure the roomate thinks I'm crazy now, but it sure is nice to have new chainrings.

Stuff
I got a new* copy of Guitar Hero 1 this morning, and lo and behold, it actually works! Score! I don't have to make anither journey to trade it again!
But I also spent about 3 hours today messing with me heart rate monitor software, because it doesn't work. Not quite as frustrating as the laptop forgetting it had speakers, but pretty close.
I got $113 for my books from last semester too! I was all excited because I had alot of money to buy stuff with, but as I was flipping through the real estate section in the newspaper looking for houses I could make the down payment on, I realized that the money came out of the federal aid account, and it should actually go to pay off intrest on said account. Dang.
Chris' dad ran over Chris' new bike, and says it isn't his fault... Tell him that I say "foo'! What 'cho problem is!? Don' make me come show you was' up, foo'! Best hurry up 'n bus' out 'cho bread fo' a new slab, yo!!"

Being Back
So yesterday when I got to campus, I started to drive in to unload my stuff, but some guy at the little entrance thing told me to turn around because I didn't have the right type of parking permit. I obeyed, then went to the other entrance without a gaurd and drove to the same place I had been trying to get to before.
Then I was dominating the downhill (read: playing Downhill Domination) and the AV cable foor my PS2 broke... So today I went to buy a new one, and happened across a used copy of Guitar Hero 1. I got back, hooked up the new cable, put the game in, and of course, I got the Guitar Hero disc that has a scratch on it and won't get past the loading screen. I guess I'm going back to try a different one tomorrow.

Training Camp
Awesome; lots of riding; hills; etc.
Four days in Leakey (thats "Lake-e" not "Leak-e") made for some good rides, about 11 hours total... Could have been more, but that's still not too bad I suppose.
Umm yeah, I can't think of anything else to say really... Hmm... So todays ride ended with the best slight downhill with a tailwind for about 14 miles ever. Me and two others guys pacelined it at 30+ most of the way!
Yeah, that is about it for now. Classes start monday. And today is thursday! I feel happy for remembering that!!

New Year
Yay.
Umm, I go back to Austin on sunday for cycling team training camp. School starts a week after. I know what you're thinking - no, not on sunday. You know what I mean. Fast food hamburgers are gross.
Back on topic, I don't think I made any resolutions for this year. Does that mean I don't need to change and I'm perfect already? Awesome.
